Minimize Stress When Moving With These Tips Part Two

Since we have gotten such a good response from our article yesterday, we are posting a continuation! You guys asked for it, we are more than happy to oblige!

Here are some more tips to help make your move a whole lot easier.

Tip #1 – Pack in layers. Packing will be a whole lot easier if you do it in layers. Put the heaviest items on the bottom and lighter ones on top. If you are packing mismatched items, cushion the bottom of the box by putting some crumpled paper under there.

Tip #2 – Put your “first use” items in clear plastic bins. This will make it easier for you to find the items that you use most often. Besides, the last items you pack will be the must-haves, and these will also be the first ones you unpack when you move in.

Tip #3 – Number your boxes. It is the logical and practical thing to do. When you are done packing, number all the boxes and record the total. This will help you keep track of all the boxes and immediately know if a box is missing.

Tip #4 – Mark each box by destination. This is the most obvious tip in the whole list. It is also the most forgotten one. Most of the time, we are in a rush packing that we just throw it all in one box and another. This time, make it more convenient for you by putting all the living room items in one box. Likewise, put all the kitchen & dining items together. You know the drill. Mark each box accordingly.

Tip #5 – Stack plates on their edges. If you are packing your plates in a box, insert them vertically like vinyl records. They are a lot less likely to break that way. Just remember to wrap them in some clothing, first.
